Shipping Policy

Chocolate is temperature sensitive and can be fragile.  In warm climates, or when in transit for too long, it can be subject to humidity and warmth which may cause it to melt.

Therefore, please review our policies made to ensure that when you recieve your chocolate, it is intact.  We recommend you plan ahead as this gives you more control over how much you pay to ship & helps ensure your planned arrival date.

 

CHOCOLATE IN TRANSIT:

Please review the Zoned Timetable to help estimate your chocolate transit time when planning your delivery.  

 

We strongly recommend you ensure the recipient is on site to receive their package.

 

Where and when the weather is warm, we ship chocolate with frozen gel packs; and if the weather is over 70F we also use insulated kits.  Shipping rates will reflect the upgraded packaging.

 

Upgraded packaging is our standard when shipping to the south east (Zone 5) and the south west (Zone 6) which we only ship via express service.

No shipping outside the continental USA.

 

SHIP DAYS & CUT-OFF TIMES:

We ship chocolate daily Monday through Thursday.

 

We do not ship on Friday or Saturday to avoid melted chocolate.  Any exceptions to this are only at our discretion.

 

Order by 12 noon for shipping on the following available ship day.

 

Once your order is placed it will be queued for the next available ship day. 

 

We require approximately 24 hours to process an order for shipping.

 

During the holidays we may need additional time to process orders - please be patient.

 

 

SHIPPING SERVICES:

We use UPS as our default service. 

We use USPS if we feel it is the better option. 

We use Fedex if requested; there may be an additional fee.

 

If you have a preferred shipper:  please advise in the Special Instructions section when placing your order and we will use your preference (or contact you if there is an issue).

 

If your address contains a PO Box:  please contact us for shipping arrangements.  It is the recipient’s responsibility to retrieve their package immediately; we are not liable for any chocolate that melts due to prolonged exposure in a warm space.

 

SHIPPING FOR YOUR CHOSEN DELIVERY DATE:

Our website allows you to choose the date you want your order delivered in advance. 

 

If you choose a future delivery date, we will hold your order and ship later to arrive by your requested delivery date.

 

Delivery days are Tuesday* through Friday. 

 

Saturday deliveries are available for an extra fee - please contact us if you need a Saturday delivery.

 

Please review the Zoned Timetable to help estimate your chocolate transit time when planning your delivery.

Note:

  • TUESDAY* DELIVERY  If you choose a Tuesday delivery and you are not in Zone 1, your order will ship Monday and arrive on Wednesday via Priority Mail.  Please choose Express Next Day delivery if your order needs to arrive on a Tuesday.
  • EXPRESS DELIVERY  If you live in a warm climate with express as the only shipping option and you choose a future delivery date, we will hold your order and ship later in time for your chosen delivery date.

 

TRACKING YOUR SHIPMENT : 

Once your order is ready to ship, we will create the label based on the address you have input into the system.  You will receive an auto-generated email or text with the tracking #.  Please be sure to include an email or phone number when placing your order and check your spam if you cannot find the notification.

 

Typically your order will be dropped at the shipper at the end of the business day:

  • 6pm for UPS / FedEx
  • 4pm for USPS

Once the package is scanned at the shipper, you can track your package.

 

Please understand that once your order is in the hands of the shipper we have no control over it.

FREE PRIORITY SHIPPING ON $100+ ORDERS in COOL CLIMATES:

Destinations within 2 day delivery qualify for free shipping with individual purchases of $100 or more (parts of PA, NJ, DE, DC, MD, parts of NY, parts of VA).

 

EXCEPTIONS: 

There is no free shipping to warm states in Zones 5 & 6 - all chocolate is default shipped express:  AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, TX, LA, MS, NM, NV, UT.

When the weather across the country gets warm there is no free shipping to most states.
